My Kitchen refresh with Décors Véronneau

My Kitchen refresh with Décors Véronneau

As we slowly cruise into spring it’s time for me to start preparing the house for the new season ahead. At this moment, I’m all for a light, bright and fresh decor. Since we spend so much time in our kitchen, I thought it would be the best place to start to add pieces that brings warmth, textures and of course, a signature spring feel to the house.  If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably noticed that I love Citrus. Not only do I love to cook with them but I also love to decorate with them. Nothing like a big bowl of lemons sitting in the middle of the island to brighten up the space and create a stunning focal point for the room. I’ve also wanted a citrus tree for the longest time, but unfortunately, I have zero once of a green thumb in me. I’ve owned many plants in my life, and none of them survived so I simply gave up on the idea of having plants and trees around the house. This year,  I partnered with Décors Véronneau to refresh my kitchen and I’m so glad I did. A few weeks ago, the lovely Gals from the head office invited me to come by and take a look at the new arrivals. Heart Shape pancakes for my valentines

Heart Shape pancakes for my valentines

On valentines day I always like to prepare something special for my boys and it often gravitates around brunch or breakfast. I love to make this day ultra special without being complicated. For me it’s all about creating memories, spending quality time together and having a little fun. I set up the table with little touches that are personalized and create an easy peasy menu that the boys will love. In our household, we can’t go wrong with pancakes, even better when served in a heart shape with little candies as a topping. This year Valentine’s day falls on a weekday but we can definitely make it special by setting up the table the night before (when the kiddos are in bed), placing little goodies on their chair and prepping my go-to pancake batter, in advance. With a bit of preparation, Valentine’s day will be as memorable this year, as if it would fall on a restful Sunday! Happy Valentine’s day everyone! -xo-

Savoy Cabbage & fennel soup

Savoy Cabbage & fennel soup

Soup is often on my weekly meal menu. They’re comforting to make and comforting to eat and I can pack/hide tons of vegetables in them, an overall win-win in my book. This particular one has been on rotation for a few weeks and it’s finally perfect in my opinion. I love the mix of flavors and textures that the cabbage, fennel, and thyme bring to this recipe. A family favorite that takes almost no time to prep and is packed with flavors and healthy ingredients.
