Kitchen staples that are beautiful & practical

Home decor and kitchen items are by far my favorite things to shop for. Anything from a cute dish towel, pretty baskets for storage, beautiful hand soap, plates, or glasses will make me happy instantly. Each season,  I like to change out basic items for quick, affordable & fresh updates throughout the house. Now that the season is changing, the temperature is rising and the days are getting longer (YAY!) I’m craving some spring decor and fresh vibes all over our house. We spend so much time in our kitchen that it’s always the first place that I like to switch things around and display little vignettes, for everyone to enjoy. Here below, I’ve included some of my favorite items at the moment that are practical, beautiful and that i’m using every day. These staples are definitely bringing a breath of fresh air into our everyday lives and that is such a good feeling!

As we slowly cruise into spring it’s time for me to start preparing the house for the new season ahead. At this moment, I’m all for a light, bright and fresh decor. Since we spend so much time in our kitchen, I thought it would be the best place to start to add pieces that brings warmth, textures and of course, a signature spring feel to the house.  If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably noticed that I love Citrus. Not only do I love to cook with them but I also love to decorate with them. Nothing like a big bowl of lemons sitting in the middle of the island to brighten up the space and create a stunning focal point for the room. I’ve also wanted a citrus tree for the longest time, but unfortunately, I have zero once of a green thumb in me. I’ve owned many plants in my life, and none of them survived so I simply gave up on the idea of having plants and trees around the house. This year,  I partnered with Décors Véronneau to refresh my kitchen and I’m so glad I did. A few weeks ago, the lovely Gals from the head office invited me to come by and take a look at the new arrivals. I was floored to see all the variety of plants & trees they had in store (and online!) and most importantly,  they looked so real!!

Christmas is definitely my favorite time of the year and it’s finally here! I’m so excited to share my Christmas decor that I did in collaboration with Decors Veronneau! It’s our first Christmas with the new floor plan at the house (we did a major renovation back in January) and I have been dreaming of how we are going to deck the halls, since the spring!

What I had in mind for the decor was an all white & natural palette filled with one of my favorite bloom and foliage: White Magnolia. I wanted the decor to look effortless, chic & cozy. I included a few brass details to tie the look with our dining room chandelier and created little vignettes here and there using vintage looking items to bring a nostalgic yet cheerful feel to the house.

I divided the decor into 4 categories and I tried to include a continuous theme throughout each space by working with the same foliage and style elements.
